Your ticket to attend includes:
- Buffet Dinner, includes three entrees, two sides and desserts to choose from
- Two drink tickets of bottled beer or house wine
- Each attendee will be responsible to pay for any additional food or drinks

ACPOC Annual Meeting Orthopedic Resident Travel Award
Sponsored through a grant from the Pritzker Foundation
Through a generous grant from the Anthony & Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation, we are excited to expand access to collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare for children and adolescents through educational opportunities for physicians in the orthopedic field. The Pritzker Family Foundation funds medical research and clinical innovation to improve service delivery, patient care, behavioral health, and wellbeing.
The award is for $2,000 to fund travel, hotel, and meeting registration costs.
The deadline for submission is Wednesday, 2/12/25
Winners will be notified on Thursday, 2/20/25
Eligibility:
- Currently enrolled in a pediatric orthopedic surgery residency or fellowship
Application Requirements:
- Letter from Program Director to confirm current trainee status
- Essay (maximum of 750 words)
Award Information:
- Up to 5 awards will be provided
- Recipients will be notified by DATE
- Recipients will be responsible for coordinating their travel
- Attendance is required at the ACPOC meeting to receive the award
- A check to reimburse their travel will be provided after the meeting

Hector Kay Lecturer
Hank Chambers, MD
Hank Chambers, MD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. He also serves as a Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado in 1978. After medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. He finished a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship in San Diego under the tutelage of David Sutherland, Scott Mubarak, and Dennis Wenger in 1990.
Dr. Chambers is currently the Director of the Southern Family Center for Cerebral Palsy Program at Rady Children’s Hospital. He is also the Medical Director of the David H. Sutherland MD Motion Analysis Laboratory. He is a former Director of the 360 Sports Medicine Program at Rady Children’s Hospital. Hank was the Chief of Staff at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego from 2004-2006. He is active nationally in many organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a Past President of the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. He is also the Past President of PRiSM, a pediatric sports medicine research society he co-founded. He has authored over 150 publications and has written over 40 book chapters. He has been fortunate to have been a Visiting Professor at over 100 institutions throughout the world and has been recognized as one of the Top Doctors in San Diego, Best Doctors in America, Top Doctors in the US News and World Report, and Who’s Who in America and the World.
His wife, Jill, is active in many local and national patient advocacy groups and is a healing touch provider at Rady Children’s Hospital. His son, Sean (41), who has cerebral palsy, is currently living independently (with support) in San Diego, and his other son, Reid (40), is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH.
Presidential Lecturer
Kyle Stepp, Elite Para Athlete
Kyle is an internationally ranked elite para-triathlete with Team USA Paratriathlon, an outdoor enthusiast with passions for skiing and off-road cycling, and a Business First 40 under 40 honoree. After transforming personal challenges into a platform for advocacy, Kyle has emerged as a powerful voice for equitable healthcare, outdoor access, disability rights, and LGBTQ+ inclusion. His efforts extend into significant legislative policy initiatives aimed at improving lives within the disability community and promoting equitable outdoor access.
In his leadership roles, Kyle collaborates with major nonprofit organizations to forge national partnerships, spearhead legislative change, and lead impactful programs. His advisory contributions benefit entities, including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, So Every BODY Can Move, Outdoor F.U.T.U.R.E, the Amputee Coalition, the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association, and the Range of Motion Project, among others.
Kyle’s dedication to systemic change is unwavering, utilizing sport as a vital catalyst for change. Currently, he competes on the World Triathlon para circuit, competes in gravel races, engages audiences as a speaker, and is a social impact and advocacy consultant for non-profits and brands.

During the exhibitors’ technical workshops, commercial devices/products can be presented by the vendor without having to meet any of the normal scientific guidelines required of the scientific workshops. Here, commercial content will not be scrutinized. Essentially, this is a chance for you to present your techniques, manufacturing tools, devices, etc. to the audience and provide information on indications, fit, repair, solutions, etc. There will be a 20 or 45 minute product highlight choice this year!
